Blacklist International finished an epic run and stunned Execration to win the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 7 championship on Sunday, May 30.

After falling behind in a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven grand finals, Tier One Entertainment-owned team Blacklist International won three consecutive games to outplay Execration and secure the team's first MPL PH title.

Before going head-to-head in the grand finals, Blacklist International and Execration paralyzed the reigning M2 world champions Bren Esports.

Blacklist International beat Bren Esports 3-2 in the upper bracket semi-finals and dominated Aura PH 3-1 in the upper bracket finals to earn a spot in the best-of-seven grand finals.

In the lower bracket, Execration upset Bren Esports with a 3-2 reverse sweep, ultimately stopping current M2 world champions' journey in the all-Filipino ML tournament. To earn the right to compete with Blacklist International, Execration quickly swept Aura PH 3-0 in the lower bracket finals.

The finals began with both teams equally showing their best performance. However, Execration fended off a game-winning push by Blacklist International to steal the victory after nearly 21 minutes of action.

Execration hammered Blacklist International in a quick game two, continuing their momentum. They led 11-4 in kills and won the game in just under 12 minutes to take a decisive 2-0 lead in the series.

Blacklist International halted Execration's surge in game three. Edward scored a triple kill in a Lord fight to give Blacklist International squad the upper hand and prevent Execration from reaching the match point.

The Execration team were once again able to play at their own pace in game four, with a 17-8 kill advantage finishing a 20-minute victory and reaching the match point.

Blacklist International ignited Game 5 aggressively, outlasting Execration in team clashes inching closer to a 20-minute triumph and extending their championship hopes for a game six.

ESON's Franco shined in game six, setting up Wise and Edward for some kills with his iron hooks. Blacklist International's superb performance concluded the game in 10 minutes, scoring 15 kills while allowing only two deaths to force a do-or-die game seven in the finals.

Blacklist International controlled the economy battle in game seven, leading by 10,000 gold in the 14th minute after securing the Lord for a possible final push. While the Execration squad were able to neutralize their initial attempt at a game-winning push at the 14-minute mark, Blacklist retaliated in the clash to bring Game 7 to an end at the 18:18 mark, eventually winning the series 4-3 and claiming the MPL PH Season 7 title.

Wise was named Game 7 MVP after tallying 4 kills and 12 assists against two deaths with an unexpected Aldous pick.

Blacklist International wins the grand prize of USD 25,000 (approximately PHP 1.2M), while Execration receives a consolation prize of USD 13,000 (approximately PHP 620K).

Both squads have also qualified for the upcoming 2021 MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) as the Philippines' representatives. The MSC will take place from June 7-13 and feature 12 of the region's best teams against one another to share a USD 150,000 prize pool.
