Garena on Tuesday (June 1) announced a global collaboration with Capcom to bring Street Fighter V content to its battle royale shooter game Free Fire. The crossover event between the two hit video games continues Garena's strategy of bringing new gaming experiences to the Free Fire community through collaborations with some of the world's most beloved brands.

When the collaboration launches in July 2021, Free Fire players can look forward to seeing Street Fighter fan favorites Ryu and Chun-Li. Ryu and Chun-Li will be accompanied by an abundance of exclusive content and experiences, including a complete reskin of the interface, new activities, and an abundance of themed collectibles.

"Street Fighter revolutionized fighting video games. It is a franchise many of us grew up with, playing as its iconic characters like Ryu and Chun-Li," said Garena Free Fire Producer Harold Teo. "Bringing a part of Street Fighter into Free Fire and welcoming Ryu and Chun-Li to Bermuda is something our players will enjoy."

Garena's partnership with Capcom continues its strategy of expanding the Free Fire experience through partnerships with some of the world's most recognizable brands. Garena recently announced collaborations with the Japanese anime series Attack on Titan and international football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to bring international football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to Free Fire.

Street Fighter is a Capcom-developed and -published fighting video game franchise that is one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time. As of March 31 2021, it had sold 46 million units worldwide. In 2016, Street Fighter V was released on PlayStation 4 and PC.

Free Fire is a multiplayer battle royale game designed exclusively for mobile devices. Developed and published globally by Garena, Free Fire reached a record-breaking peak daily active user count of over 100 million in 2020.
