Esports organization Mineski Global has recently partnered with Silicon Valley- and Hong Kong-based digital community LYKA to host the Philippines' first competitive tournament for casual gamers.

LYKA is a social platform that combines content and community with finance and e-commerce, allowing users to earn Gems (Gift card in Electronic Mode) for sharing content. LYKA Games, the app's newest feature, is a skill-based casual game platform that combines fun and real-life rewards.

The event, dubbed as the "LYKA Games Community Challenge: Tournament For A Cause," brought together members of the LYKA community who competed in two teams (Team Yu_Yen and Team Zeckya) for a Php95,000 prize pool that would be donated to the winning group's chosen charity.

However, it was ultimately decided to split the proceeds between their respective organizations – Missionary of the Sick and Siklab Diwa. LYKA Gems were used to purchase groceries specifically for the former, demonstrating how these digital tokens can be used for good.

Additionally, Cellboy, a mobile phone distributor, and Like A Boss (LAB), an entertainment production company, co-sponsored a live raffle for viewers to win a brand new OPPO A12 smartphone.

Team Yu-Yen and Team Zeckya were given a choice of games to compete in during the program. They also seen the special sneak peek and trial of OPPO Blast, a new mini mobile game designed by Mineski Philippines and launched in collaboration with OPPO, a global consumer electronics brand.

For a limited time, LYKA members will have access to this innovative branded venture via the LYKA Games platform before it becomes available exclusively in select OPPO brand stores throughout Metro Manila.

The LYKA Games Community Challenge: Tournament For A Cause attracted over 100,000 organic users and over 70,000 engagements, with a peak concurrent viewership of nearly 24,000 during the closing segment, during which Mineski Global CEO Ronald Robins squared off against LAB's Richard Dix in an OPPO Blast exhibition. LYKA Games reported that approximately 7,500 users tried out the game immediately following the tournament.
